Construction Site Foreman
Fabrico Builders is developing civil construction projects in Ghana is looking for a Construction Site Foreman to join our team. We are able to offer a great benefits package, as well as opportunities for growth within the company.
You will be responsible for running the site efficiently to ensure project delivery. This involves all aspects of site management, including labour, health & safety, materials, stores and reporting. Close collaboration with the Production Manager.
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager will be to:
Sites
- Ensure that the project runs to schedule and that the works carried out are to a satisfactory standard for sign-off by the Building Projects Engineer.
- Set daily work schedules with the site supervisors.
- Measure progress against project programmes, marking droplines on a monthly basis.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Monitor the implementation of site health and safety procedures.
- Hold the weekly job site safety meeting and record it in the logbook.
Stores Management
- Responsibility for the distribution, management and safekeeping of all materials and tools held on site.
- Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for the job in order to ensure a good output.
- Completing a weekly stock take, identifying tools or equipment in need of repair or write off, to inform the weekly report and forecast.
- Ensure the Procurement & Logistics Manager is provided with sufficient notice when plant and equipment are free to go to another site.
Reporting
- Prepare a weekly report to cover:
- progress of works, and
- materials/tools received and used.
- Preparing a weekly forecast of:
- materials/tools required, and
- schedule of impending works.
Quality Control
- Prior to the commencement of site works, work with the Project Manager to gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and drawings.
- On an ongoing basis, monitor all works against specifications to ensure the continuing quality and accuracy of work performed.
- Work with the site supervisor to rectify any defects, mistakes, errors, contamination or variations.
People Management
- Make self-available as coach/mentor in assisting Site Supervisors to develop in their position and helping them as they learn new tasks.
- Recruit the site team and ensure that they are competent for the roles allocated to them.
- Manage and discipline the site team, reporting any positive and negative issues to the Building Projects Manger.
- Ensure all reasonable steps are taken in order to achieve harmony within the site team at all times.
Qualification Required & Experience
- 5 years of experience working on a construction site as a Construction Site Foreman.
- Demonstrable commitment to the aims and objectives of the projects.
- Dynamic self-starter, able to work to pre-defined targets on own initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills, good prioritisation skills
- Good report writing skills
- Strong team player but must have the ability to work independently.
Base Salary: In a bank account you prefer.
