Our company is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Quantity Surveyor. Fabrico Builders is developing civil construction projects in Ghana. We are able to offer a great benefits package, as well as opportunities for growth within the company
You will be responsible for managing and controlling costs on our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and on time. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of projects from start to finish.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting
- Prepare proposals for private clients and government projects.
- Estimate the costs of materials, labour, equipment, and other resources needed for the construction project, ensuring that the proposed budget aligns with the client’s financial expectations, complies with government regulations and procurement processes and project requirements.
- Make significant cost savings and recommendations which must include cash flow projections, cost planning, change management, risk assessment and more.
Tender Documentation
- Detailed cost breakdowns, project specifications, and contractual terms. The tender documents must be clear, accurate, and comply with industry standards and client requirements.
- Tenders’ requirements: Tenders, Estimating, Variations, Valuations, Payment Claims, Bill of Quantities, On-Site Consultancy, Post Contract Management, Remeasures, Advice on Contract / Claims, Advice on Developments
Contract Administration
- Assist in drafting contracts for clients (both private and government). Ensuring that the terms and conditions are fair and transparent.
- monitor costs, assess variations, and manage contractual claims to ensure that the project stays within budget and complies with contractual obligations.
Value Engineering
- propose value engineering solutions to optimise costs without compromising quality or functionality.
Risk Management
- assess and manage risks associated with cost overruns, delays, and unforeseen circumstances during construction projects
Client Relationship Management
- communicate regularly with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide updates on project costs and progress
- Award in Quantity Surveying – Tendering Processes. Candidates applying for this position having a Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or a related field will be considered as an advantage.
- 5 years of proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using construction cost estimating software. (CCS Candy), and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of contract and construction regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
